Rachael and I would like to introduce our daughter Chen Gu Xia who we will name
"Hannah Xia Grabowski"
She was born on June 20, 2010
We want to apologize to all of our Rumor Queen followers for not posting this sooner but we had a surprise You Tube video to show our family on Saturday night during a birthday party for our neice and nephews. So now that it is done we would like to share it with all of you, our family, and friends.

Is she from Chenzhou? I think she is by her "last" name! My daughter came from Chenzhou, Hunan also and I am not saying this bc she's ours, but she is absoutely gorgeous and your little girl is absolutely gorgeous too! Must be a trait there! :) The orphanage there takes VERY good care of their children. They are part of Half the Sky, which means less babies to 1 nannie! Olivia was 9 months old the day we held her, weighed 16.4 pds. She wore 3-6 mth clothes for about 3 days then 6-9. She could crawl but not stand and didn't have any teeth, but attached (even kissed my husband the first time he held her) VERY quickly! I think you will be pleased with how she's been treated. If you would like to see our story, we have a website from the beginning but stopped, but you could look...www.langley6.blogspot.com also the orhanage has a website but I don't remember the address. Congratulations! She really is gorgeous!!!!
LOVE IT!!! BLESSINGS
She's BEAUTIFUL!!! Congratulations!!!
My oldest is from Fujian. She was 11 months old when we met, and she just turned 10. She also happens to have Xia in her name. In her case, the character means "rosy clouds at sunrise or sunset" -- it symbolizes softness, grace and beauty.
Fujian is a beautiful and prosperous coastal province, known for its oolong tea, shoushan stone carvings, puppetry -- and shoe factories. :) Quanzhou in the south was a famous port city on the Silk Road.
Best wishes!!!

Congrats! She's beautiful. Mysty- I agree about the orphanages with HTS. Our first daughter was housed in a HTS orphanage for her first 17 months. She was in Hefei, the same orphanage where HTS originated. When we toured the orphanage, it was well maintained, and her nanny only had a ratio of 3:1, which is typical of HTS orphanages because the nannies are funded by HTS. They also have apartments around all of the HTS orphanages where elderly are housed, and they come to play with the babies and hold them every day.
Upon our visit to the orphanage, I was greeted warmly by her nanny, and we could tell she was cared for and loved beyond our expectations, she called herself "first mother" in her journal that we received, because she was bonded to her like a mother would bond.
The orphanage was clean and probably better maintained than a foster home would have been, because of the funding from HTS. AND you will be sent home with a journal that her nanny has kept for her, as well as weekly or monthly picture updates. We have a picture of our daughter from the day she was found at four days old.....a treasure beyond words. ALL due to Half the Sky. I can't say enough "good" things about HTS. Im positive that our daughter had an easy transition and was able to bond with us because of the efforts of her nanny and HTS.
She is a tiny little thing! Congratulations Mom and Dad.
